Artist Development in New Plymouth

Talent is not enough on its own. The programme’s artist development side covers creative direction, branding, release planning and how the music and screen industries actually work, so emerging artists make better decisions earlier.

New Plymouth has an outsized arts profile for its size: the Len Lye Centre and Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, the Coastal Walkway, and WOMAD at Brooklands each year. Taranaki maunga gives every outdoor shoot a backdrop. The programme is open to emerging artists from New Plymouth. Get in touch to find out what is running and how to take part from there.

What’s included

Artist development runs alongside EYWA Records, so members learn from a working label.

  3. Try the rest: Move across music, acting, film and digital media as you go.
  4. Real projects: Work on EYWA recordings, music videos, short films and performances.
