Artist Development in Auckland

Talent is not enough on its own. The programme’s artist development side covers creative direction, branding, release planning and how the music and screen industries actually work, so emerging artists make better decisions earlier.

Auckland is where most of New Zealand’s music, advertising and screen work is made. It is the country’s largest city, home to about a third of the population, and it has the widest range of locations within an hour’s drive: city streets, harbour, west coast beaches and the volcanic cones. The programme is open to emerging artists from Auckland. Get in touch to find out what is running and how to take part from there.

What’s included

Artist development runs alongside EYWA Records, so members learn from a working label.

How it works

  1. Get in touch: Tell the team who you are and what you want to work on.
  2. Start: Join workshops or sessions in the area you are most into.
  3. Try the rest: Move across music, acting, film and digital media as you go.
  4. Real projects: Work on EYWA recordings, music videos, short films and performances.
